    The Tone of your Script

There are different tones or emotional directions that you may want to take your script. On-hold messages and voicemails will vary depending on the company, the purpose, and the nature of the business. There are certain situations when a friendly, welcoming tone may be required and others where a serious professional nature might be more appropriate.

You may also consider pitching new products while the customer is waiting to be connected. Scripts should walk the line between selling to the customer, but reducing the frustration of keeping them on hold.
